Ipswich Waterfront

One of the most popular attraction and things to do in Suffolk is visiting Ipswich Waterfront is a great place to take a leisurely stroll. Here you’ll find a plethora of places to visit including; the Salthouse Harbour Hotel, Isaacs on the Quay and The John Russell Art Gallery. The Waterfront is also home to a number of events across the year, namely the Ipswich Maritime Festival, a bi-annual festival that brings with it two days of activities, food and music.

Museum of East Anglian Life

The Museum of East Anglian Life, located just a few minutes from Stowmarket Town Centre is set within 75 acres of beautiful Suffolk Landscape. Here you can discover 15 restored historic buildings, learn about fascinating East Anglian crafts and traditional Gypsy culture, meet the infamous Suffolk Punch or take part in a range of different workshops. Admission prices start at £4.70.

Abbey Gardens

Set within the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds and still one of the most popular things to do in Suffolk among visitors. Abbey Gardens is home to an aviary, a play area and tennis courts. It is also a venue for a wide variety of public events such as concerts, plays, parades, festivals, fairs and even fireworks. Admission is, of course, free, but check the website for event prices.

Theatre Royal

Theatre Royal, located in Bury St Edmunds, was built in 1819 and is the last surviving Regency playhouse in the country. The Grade 1 listed building is the only theatre in the National Trust property portfolio and consistently has a wide variety of concerts and shows on, including comedy shows, musical acts, pantomimes and plays. Ickworth House, Park and Gardens

The beautiful Ickworth House, built as an 18th-century Italian-style showcase for the Hervey family’s collections of Georgian silver, Regency furniture, books and fine paintings, is home to a range of activities for all the family. Wander around the Parkland, Woods and Italianate Gardens while the children let off some steam at the playground, buy some trinkets in the gift shop or some plants in the garden shop, have a bite to eat in the restaurant or take a look around the historic house.
