Things To Do At Easter

With the Easter half term fast approaching we thought it would be useful to offer a round up of some fun activities in the surrounding areas. Whether it be for kids, couples or families there are a range of exciting events coming up.

Beth Chatto Gardens in Elmstead Market hold an annual Easter Egg hunt offering you the chance to explore the beautiful gardens as you find the hidden eggs. A self-guided trail which runs every day throughout the Easter holidays is perfect for children both big and small. Entry for adults is £6.95 and for children £1.50 or free if you book tickets online in advance.

The Abberton Reservoir Visitor Centre located in Great Wigborough have a range of events on over the Easter half term. Including; multiple Easter Egg Hunts offering the chance to explore the nature reserve and a Spring Bug Hunt where children can ramble around the reserve and search for some spring bugs.

Jimmy’s Farm located in Wherstead has lots of fun things to do for all the family. From farm animals to feed, animal petting sessions, the Butterfly House, children’s play areas, the Woodland Walk and fishing available, a day out at Jimmy’s Farm is a perfect way to spend your Easter.

From Friday 14th April to Monday 17th April Kentwell Hall will be holding its annual Eastertide Event. Perfect for all the family the Eastertide Event includes; Tudor Eastertide, The Impossible Easter Quiz, opening of the house and gardens, a children’s Easter Egg trail, family fun trails and a range of animals to pet on the farm.

Easter is a great opportunity to take a romantic break. In the hopes that Spring will have sprung and the sun will be shining, why not spend the day at Dedham? The Boathouse Restaurant have 26 clinker built rowing boats which can be hired from 30 minutes to an hour or more. Afterwards you could stop in the restaurant for a bite to eat.

Every Friday night at Stoke by Nayland Golf Club the Fleeze Jazz event is held. From 7.30pm onwards the very best in modern and contemporary jazz is showcased to hotel guests, local residents, visiting jazz enthusiasts and members alike.

We also have a wide range of fun activities available at Gladwins Farm for you during your Easter getaway.

Take yourself off on a walk around Woodland Walk where you can keep an eye out for the special woodland animal signs. Squirrels, owls and badgers have all been known to say hello. And if that’s not enough animal interaction for you then why not pet our farm animals? We have pigs, Pygmy goats, chickens, horses and sheep for you to feed. All but one of our cottages are dog friendly, so you can bring your beloved pets along to enjoy Easter too!

Lastly, we have lots of facilities to help keep you active after all the Easter Eggs! Splash around in our indoor pool, play a spot of tennis, let off some steam on our outdoor play area, hold a teddy bears tea party in our Wendy house or jump as high as you possibly can on our trampoline!
