Free Things To Do In Suffolk

Fun and exciting days out don’t always have to break the bank, take a look at these four entirely free jaunts tried and tested by Gladwins Farm.

Discover The Suffolk Coast

Here in Suffolk, we’re blessed with wonderful coast paths that run from Felixstowe all the way up to Lowestoft. Exploring the stunning Suffolk coastline with family or friends is entirely free, stop for a picnic, a few games or even a dip in the sea if you can brave the chilly October air.

Family Fun at Southwold Pier

A jewel in Suffolk’s crown is the breathtaking Southwold Pier which is renowned for its excellent restaurants (we love The Boardwalk) and vast range of attractions. Test your timing on the twopenny shove machine in The Arcade, change your reflection at the Wacky Walk of Mirrors, let time pass at The Water Clock or cast your line at the end of the Pier.

Travel Back in Time to Suffolk’s Medieval Churches

Combined with Suffolk’s neighbouring county of Norfolk, this region of Great Britain is home to some of the most magnificent medieval churches in Europe which are now open to visitors all day, every day. Church of St Michael the Archangel, Framlingham and St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Lavenham are two of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in the country.

Rendlesham Forest near Woodbridge

This wonderful woodland offers traffic-free walking and cycling with huge outdoor play structures as well as spooky UFO walking trails. There is a soft play area for younger children or zip wires and climbing frames for slightly older children. This wonderful forest offers days worth of fun for all groups, completely free of charge.

There’s More…

There is still a wide variety of other activities that can fill up your half-term schedule completely free of charge. Take a look at this excellent list of alternative activities from The Suffolk Coast for more ideas on free days out in Suffolk this October.
