Gladwins Farm is based just outside of the village of Nayland and we often get the question, are you in Suffolk or Essex? The answer to that question is that we’re in Suffolk, but less than a mile from the Suffolk/Essex border which lies just down the hill.
This is why our 13 dog-friendly self-catering cottages are perfect for exploring everything Essex has to offer.
At Gladwins Farm we have a selection of 13 different self-catering cottages which have been designed and built based on our idea of the ideal holiday cottage. Our cottages range from large lodges that can sleep up to 16 people to cosy, romantic cottages that sleep 2 people.
This makes a stay at Gladwins Farm ideal for corporate getaways with the whole team, a summer staycation with the family or a weekend break to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind you.
Our self-catering cottages are extremely well equipped for both you and your dog. Our range of amenities includes:
As all of our cottages are bespoke we recommend taking a look at our full selection of cottages for the exact specifications. We do have a few rules if you’re taking your four-legged friend with you on your stay with us to make sure that our cottages are clean and comfortable for the next guests. These include:
Essex is home to many great attractions which will keep you busy exploring the area during your stay with us. There are a great deal of dog-friendly activities in Essex so you don’t have to leave your furry friend behind. Our favourites include:
The village of Dedham sits within the Dedham Vale area of outstanding natural beauty and this makes it the perfect starting point to explore the area. Sitting just within Essex the village is a 20-minute drive from Gladwins Farm through the beautiful countryside and offers lots of great walks along the Stour.
Essex has one of the longest coastlines out of all the English counties which makes it a perfect place to take the family, including your pets, for a day out. The Essex coastline features lots of picturesque towns and villages, nature reserves, salt marsh and grazing marshes. Some of our favourite year-round dog-friendly beaches in Essex include:
Hylands house and estate just outside Chelmsford is an 18th-century house and estate. The house itself is open to the public for free on the 3rd Sunday of every month although this can change depending on the events they have running. The park is made up of 574 acres giving your dog the freedom to roam around and explore without you having to worry. There is easy access to parking along with walking routes into Chelmsford city centre.
With lots to explore all over Essex, Gladwins Farm is the ideal place for you and your furry friend to come back to and relax. With the majority of our bespoke cottages being dog friendly and right on the doorstep of Essex we don’t think you’ll find a more comfortable place to stay.
