The Best Ways to Relax in and Around Gladwins Farm

While Gladwins Farm is notable for its beautiful holiday cottages and countryside setting, we know that a range of activities and amenities are the key to a relaxing and memorable break. To give you a few ideas for an upcoming break (or a day trip in Suffolk!) check out this list.

Cycling Paths

Winter walks are a great way to make the most of Gladwins Farm, but in the slightly milder winter months, a cycle can be a warmer way to immerse yourself in nature. Many of the walking routes are also suitable for cycling, as well as paths near the river. Why not take a picnic along to enjoy in a particularly idyllic spot, or warm up by the cottage fire when you return from your adventure?

Take a Dip in the Hot Tub

Many of our holiday cottages at Gladwins Farm have hot tubs as part of the facilities offered. In the colder months, it’s an ideal way to relax after a day of activity in nature. For couples celebrating a milestone, or just getting away, why not indulge in a bottle of champagne or prosecco to complement the bubbles of the tub?

If you’re staying in one of our smaller cottages, our indoor swimming pool also offers a place to relax in the water.

Watching the Sunrise/Sunset

There’s certainly a sense of peace and stillness associated with dawn and dusk. Not only does the famous ‘golden hour’ light up the surrounding fields, woods and trees in a magnificent way, you’ll find peace of mind among the sounds of nature.

If you’re planning to watch the sunrise, make sure to check the weather, so that you aren’t left staring at clouds! Wrap up warm, and arrive around 30 minutes before the sun is set to rise to enjoy the gradually changing colour of the sky. Why not watch the sunrise or sunset from the comfort of your cottage hot tub?

Man’s Best Friend

At Gladwins Farm, we are huge fans of nature walks, especially with pets! Our pet-friendly cottages make spending time with the most important member of the family even more special. With so many routes to walk and a comfy bed, bowls and biscuits provided, they’ll be living in the same luxury as you! If you have no pets yourself, but are an animal lover, there are many farm animals on site for you to meet.

Fishing

As either an experienced fisherman or an amateur, there are plenty of options for fishing in Suffolk. Many sites, such as Baker’s Puddle and Barham pits offer unsupervised booking for those who already know how to fish. For providers with more involvement, see High Lodge in Saxmundham, who offer individual, small and large group bookings. For sea fishing, go to Lowestoft and Orford beaches. It’s a great way to learn a new activity or practice an enjoyable hobby amongst the lakes and nature that resides around it.

These are just a few of the many options available around Gladwins Farm. We know that after a day in nature, the ideal way to recharge for the next day is in the comfort of our cottages. If these activities appeal to you, book with us today. We can’t wait to welcome you!
