Things to do at Gladwins Farm...
Britain can be a rainy country As we’ve seen throughout January and February this year, Britain can be a pretty...
If you’re anything like us, you long for the first day of Spring. We love being outdoors during Autumn and Winter, it’s so invigorating, but there’s nothing quite like taking a walk or spending some time outdoors when everything around us is starting to come to life. So, to help you plan your stay, we’ve put together some recommendations of what to do when you stay at one of our Suffolk holiday cottages.
Take a walk around the spectacular countryside
Part of what makes our pet-friendly cottages so special is the spectacular countryside setting they’re in. Take a step outside the door and you’re immediately immersed into a stunning setting. There’s acres of woodland walks in our Suffolk farm holidays, there’s also public bridleways and footpaths for the whole family and your four-legged friends to enjoy. Everyone’s different, and we know that sometimes it’s nicer to aim for somewhere when venturing out for a walk, perhaps somewhere for a take-away coffee or slice of cake? Perhaps visit the Anchor in Nayland or take yourself a little further to a nearby village called Assington, treating yourself to a nibble from the Assington Barn.
Visit the farm animals
Our farm animals are at the core of what we do. From pigs to pygmy goats, there’s always someone at the fence waiting to say a hello! Spring can be such a magical time too, not just with the hope of warmer weather, but also with new life on the farm. Take a stroll along our Woodland Walk and you’re bound to see our chickens, sheep and many many more. And what’s better? Our cottages are dog friendly, so nobody has to stay at home, and as we are surrounded by multiple popular dog-walking routes. There will no doubt be plenty of opportunities for your dogs to enjoy and play with other friendly companions.
Outdoor play area and tennis courts
That’s right, we’ve got one awesome outdoor play area! Swings for all ages, a Rocking Rooster, trampoline, Wendy house and even a kitchen amongst other things. A farm holiday stay in Suffolk is for the kids too! They can go crazy and have the time of their lives, whilst you can get stuck into a game of tennis on our all-weather tennis courts, without the need to bring your own gear (we’ve got that covered).
Now who doesn’t love a holiday cottage with an indoor pool?
Taking a dip may not be quite as tempting during Winter, but now Spring’s here it’s time to go for a splash! The kids can enjoy some time in our indoor heated pool, it’s 1.25m throughout and has plenty of space to get the lilo and rubber dingy out, or for the more serious swimmers, private swimming lessons are available. It can be tiring though, right? Once the kids have worn themselves out, take some time to relax in one of our private hot tubs, 7 of our cottages have their very own hot tubs.
