Last Thursday evening saw the sixth annual Creating the Greenest County Awards held at The Apex, Bury St Edmunds where Gladwins Farm were delighted to win the Greenest Business (Micro) Award.
The awards celebrate the on-going work within businesses, communities and schools across Suffolk in achieving environmental excellence. This can range from developing innovative ways to reduce carbon emissions, protecting our natural landscape to reducing waste.
Gladwins Farm are pleased to be recognised for our on-going commitment to environmentally friendly holidays. The recent installation of our Bio-Mass Woodchip Boiler providing heating for not only our cottages but indoor pool as well, will help to reduce our carbon footprint further.
Our solar panels are being moved onto trackers which follow the sun from dawn to dusk creating 40% more energy than previously. We are also proud to stock locally sourced produce in our Visitor Shop and encourage guests to be ’green’ during their stay.
This latest accolade joins our Green Tourism ‘Gold’ award and our recent Environmental Awareness Business award.
