Child Friendly Holidays
Gladwins Farm is very child-friendly; the kids love the freedom to wander, whether to the outside play area, the wendy house or moseying along to see their favourite animals.
There is an outdoor playground with all sorts from swings for all ages, a rocking rooster, a wendy house complete with kitchen and a football goal to practice your skills! There is a full size, all-weather tennis court, we have a selection of tennis racquets and balls to borrow, play croquet on the lawn or simply enjoy the view from a picnic table There's a woodland walk, which takes you round the woods where the children can spot the resident wildlife. Or you can link to the footpaths and cycle routes.
For the mums and dads - we have a wide range of baby equipment to borrow. Items include cots, high chairs, baby bath, sterilisers, monitor and much more. Must be booked before arrival. Baby bowls/plates/cups/cutlery in all cottages. Emergency baby pack available (includes nappies, wipes etc). We also have swimming nappies available for sale.
Fancy a night off? We can arrange a local, CRB checked baby sitter so you can explore the wide range of fantastic local restaurants.
Our new play barn caters for children of all ages. Situated far enough away from the cottages so as not to spoil the peace and quiet, the barn consists of a table tennis area, a soft play area for babies and toddlers and a TV area with a Wii. During the winter months we also have a bouncy castle that can fit inside the barn (available at weekends).
Forget the weather; the water in our heated indoor pool's always a toasty 30 degrees and it's the same depth - 1.25 metres - throughout, so it's easy keeping your children safe. Everyone knows how addictive kids find water and, when they're on holiday, how a daily dunk can see their confidence and proficiency rise. (It's not uncommon to see a reluctant, first-day toe-dipper transformed into a last-day jumper-in.) You probably also know how the exertion and excitement can just wear them out. Swimming lessons are also available for all ages from our resident swimming instructor.
We stock a large range of Zoggs swimming equipment including swimming costumes, armbands, water confidence toys etc. The pool itself is well-appointed, clean and comfortable, with spacious changing facilities and, as you might expect, it has nappy-changing facilities, too. After a swim you can then take a dip and relax in the outdoor hot tub and sauna!
Come and visit the 'Gladwins Gang'. Young children and toddlers love to feed animals, they drop pellets for the pigs and watch them devour the scraps from their kitchens. The children can feed the pigmy goats straight from their hands. They can help collect the eggs from the chickens and make friends with the resident horses and sheep. From what they say, for many children, feeding an animal is their most treasured memory.
